Malbec is a black grape variety native to France, where it is planted throughout the major winegrowing regions. In Bordeaux, vignerons use the grape as a blending agent, usually in small amounts, to add color and body to Bordeaux wines. In this part of the country, Malbec is sometimes referred to as Pressac.
